This scheme has now ended. It was aimed at those working for the NHS, supporting their efforts during the COVID-19 outbreak or and key workers. We loaned out approaching 200 bikes!
Covid Mutual Aid – NHS & Key Worker Bikes was a collaboration between several organisations including the Margaret Carey Foundation. Any donations will be used to continue the scheme.

Although this project has finished, a new loan scheme is now available from Bradford Bikery, which we are supporting. Details here: www.bradfordbikery.org/free-bicycle-hire-scheme
Appeal for Bikes!
We are running out of bicycles to loan so please get in touch if you have an unwanted bike to donate. We can collect or you can drop the bike off at Capital of Cycling.
Please fill out this form about the bike you wish to donate. If you need to speak to somebody first, you can call Anthony 07541093660 or email info@capitalofcycling.org.
Why are we doing this?
We’ve always thought it made more sense to use bikes for transport rather than cars in cities, but at the moment cycling can help with maintaining social distancing and you might also be struggling to find time to exercise so using a bike for transport will help with that as well.
You’ll either be able to collect the bike from Capital of Cycling (at a designated slot, with appropriate distancing and sanitation methods in place) – or we’ll do our best to deliver it to you.
If you want to support this work, you can donate via our Fundraiser Page on Facebook or via PayPal using the link above.
