Bike Maintenance Classes

Want to learn how to do basic repairs on your bike? Join us for our free bike maintenance classes.

Beginners:

In 2 hours with our mechanics in the Capital of Cycling workshop, you’ll get an introduction to the space, how to use basic tools and we’ll cover some basic repairs such as removing tyres and adjusting brakes.

Bring your own bike to work on, or let us know if you need one to practice on in advance.

PLEASE MAKE SURE TO CANCEL if you’re not going to attend.

Intermediate Maintennance:

In 6 hours with our mechanics in the Capital of Cycling workshop, you’ll get time to learn about how to service brakes, gears, wheel bearings and an introduction to wheel truing. We won’t be covering hydraulics or suspension forks.

This course is ideal for anyone who has done some repairing of bikes but would like to learn more. We hope to give you an introduction to the most important aspects of bike repairs and maintenance.

Bring your own bike to work on, or let us know if you need one to practice on in advance.

PLEASE MAKE SURE TO CANCEL if you’re not going to attend.

Women’s only basic bike maintenance

The same as our standard bike maintenance course, taught by a female mechanic, for women that find male-dominated settings difficult. Please note that there may still be CIS-gendered men in the building. These don’t run every week so feel free to e-mail emily@capitalofcycling.org if you would like us to run this session.
