Two £1,000 Mini‑Grants for Community Social‑Enterprise Projects

Capital of Cycling is offering two £1,000 mini‑grants to support small, practical cycling related social‑enterprise projects that strengthen mobility or community wellbeing in Bradford. Your idea can be something new, or it can give a targetted boost to work you’re already doing.

Deadline: 23rd November

What We’re Looking For

We want simple, grounded ideas that make a real difference locally. You don’t need to be a formal organisation — individuals, informal groups and community partners are all welcome.

To apply, just e-mail ebikes@capitalofcycling.org with the following information 1-2 sides of A4 (about 500 words).

  • Who you are — what your organisation or background is.
  • Your idea — what you want to do or expand.
  • Community benefit — who it helps and how.
  • Sustainability — how it could continue after the grant.
  • Budget — how you’d spend the £1,000 (wages, tools, kit, materials or any reasonable costs).

What You’ll Need to Provide

If funded, you’ll produce:

  • A short case study describing what you achieved
  • Photos of the activity or outputs
  • A brief summary of outcomes or learning

These help us understand what works and share learning with partners.

Why We’re Offering These Grants

This call‑out is part of the Bradford E‑Bike Transitions Innovation Project, funded by Active Travel England. The wider project is testing how community‑based cycling activity can become locally owned, sustainable, and replicable.

These micro‑grants help identify small enterprise models that genuinely work in Bradford, feeding into the project’s toolkit, deployment guides, and shared‑learning repository.
