Donate to Capital of Cycling

Bikes and Equipment

We welcome donations of unused bikes and cycling equipment (child seats, parts, etc.)  Our aim is simply to get as many people as possible riding a bike and we will use them to this end.

We don’t want very broken or rusted beyond repair bikes. It’s not effective for us to spend a long time fixing them and these wind up being a burden rather than helping anyone. If in doubt ask – a) would it be worth the time, expense and cost of parts and b) was the bike any good in the first place c) Is the bulk of the bike not rusty or ceased up? If the answer is no, we probably can’t use it!

Currently bikes and kit can be dropped off at the Keighley Airedale Centre on Tuesdays 10-4pm or our 9 Chatham St, BD3 venue on Thursdays 10-3pm. (Locations here). If dropping off with a vehicle there is on street parking available at both locations.

Email info@capitalofcycling.org to confirm the drop-off.

We don’t generally do collections unless it’s a particularly special item or is otherwise easily accessible to our staff. We also don’t buy bikes from the public.

Clothing (cycling specific)

You can drop off donations at Keighley Airedale Centre (Tuesdays, 10–4pm) or 9 Chatham Street, BD3 (Thursdays, 10–3pm). Email info@capitalofcycling.org before travelling so we can make sure someone is on site.

You can post items to our hub address with the Keighley venue being the more reliable. Unfortunately posted parcels sometimes get returned if they arrive when nobody is on site, so if you do this be sure to use a courier that allows us to choose a redelivery slot. This isn’t ideal but neither of our venues have a dedicated place to leave parcels really, but a neighbour at the Keighley venue will usually take a parcel in for us.

WE DON’T WANT USED BIBS OR BIB SHORTS PLEASE (nobody seems to want to take them and we have dozens).

Financial Donations

Financial donations are of course also welcome to support our work and you can donate via the button below.
