We are absolutely thrilled to announce we have been awarded Sport England “This Girl Can” funding to run sessions gettting women who are not confident cycling out on their bikes.
We will be offering 10 cohorts of women five sessions to get them out and about on the bikes. The sessions will include basic bike mechanics and being confident about how your bike works, route planning and deciding on journeys, confidence on riding off road and on quiet roads. There will be chance at the start of each series of sessions for the group to steer where they’d like to go and what they’d like to learn. There will be some cohorts aimed specifically at women needing to cycle with children.
Previous sessions have included basic bike handling skills, guided rides, puncture repair and chain maintenance sessions.
The sessions will be run by female cycle instructors, ride leaders and mechanic
Our next sessions will be starting soon:
Thursday evenings 6pm-8pm starting 9th June
Saturday morning 10-12pm starting 18th June
Saturday afternoon 1pm-3pm with optional kids cycling session alongside also starting 18th June
