Reduced Hours, and Venue Challenge

Our long-time mechanic and workshop person Em has recently found a new job at Suma (congratulations to them!) and so we’re working with a reduced team for now. This and the need to reconfigure our offer a bit, taking some time to plan for the future – including a venue move next year.

We’re running a limited number of bike kitchens 4:30-7 instead of 5-8 and the daytime volunteering sessions are reduced as well. Drop us an e-mail if you are thinking of popping by (info@capitalofcycling.org) so we can be sure you don’t make a wasted trip.

Learn to Ride bike sessions are continuing as normal in various locations – you can book these through Eventbrite.

If you’re interested in volunteering or helping with our project, do get in touch. We’re likely to have some job vacancies coming up for community based mechanics, support in the workshop and other admin activities supporting lessons and our outreach activities. Again, get in touch if you’re interested in discussing possibilities with us.

Finally – we’re looking for a new venue! Our home at Rawson Road comes to an end in April 2024. The whole building is being demolished (again). We’re considering renting or purchasing a city-centre property. Meanwhile-use is also being considered. If you have any suggestions or leads, we’d be grateful to hear them.
