Refugees and asylum seekers are welcome here
We’ve been thrilled to be able to offer a series of welcoming events for Bradford based asylum seekers and refugees here at The Capital of Cycling. Food, fun, bike repair and organised rides.
Friends and families of asylum seekers and refugees currently living in Bradford came last Tuesday (30th June) for refreshments. They were able to learn a bit about the hub, pick up a bike and do a bit of bike riding. Kids and those who hadn’t ridden much before were able to practice around our indoor track.
For the next session we’d like to progress to some outdoor riding if conditions are favourable. These are the first in a compact series of events which will be taking place on Tuesday afternoons with a particular aim of supporting asylum seekers, refugees. Locals are of course also welcome to come along and get involved as well.
If you do plan to come along it would be helpful if you could e-mail us (info@capitalofcycling.org) to let us know in advance.
The events are funded with help from dedicated volunteers, Cycling UK Big Bike Revival, and via an Awards for All grant, from the National Lottery. Dr Bike is provided by Bradford Bikery.
Thanks for giving back to the community. What better way to bless the refugees than providing food and bike rides? Amazing work!
