Making Bradford a City of Cycling!
Capital of Cycling is hosting a series of events to celebrate and use as a springboard the UCI World Championship cycle races 2019.
Saturday 28th is the race itself and we’ll be opening our cycling hub to the world, providing activities for the whole family, and refreshments. We’re hosting a meet and greet with Dame Sarah Storey, Olympic medallist, famous Paralympian (and Cycling Commissioner for Sheffield) during the day as well as Curry and music in the evening, to unwind, after the race.
We had hoped to host Chris Boardman and others the evening before in a summit format, but their commitments around the race made this not possible. We’re planning instead an event for next year (a Bradford Cycling Summit for 2020) to which we are inviting a number of high profile guests to including Chris and Sarah. Both Dame Sarah Storey and Chris Boardman have won gold medals for their sporting achievements and they are now hard at work transforming how we move around modern cities.
If your club, school or group is organising something cycling related during the week running up to the race, or the weekend – please contact Dawn at firstname.lastname@example.org.
