We’re currently running free minor repairs and maintenance checks on Fridays for the rest of the year.
You just need to drop your bike down to us in the morning on Thursday or Friday and leave a few contact details with us. We will do our best to fix your bike within a half-hour allocated slot on Friday afternoon. If it requires more major repairs, we’ll be able to give you some advice about that.
It’s helpful if you can e-mail us in advance at info@capitalofcycling.org to let us know you’ll be dropping it down.
We’re not currently allowing the public into the building except for scheduled sessions so you’ll need to leave your bike with us at the door. Please don’t attend if you have any Covid-19 symptoms or have been asked to isolate. You’ll need to wear a mask when dropping off the bike and please use some hand sanitiser at the door.
The sessions have been funded by Cycling UK as part of their Big Bike Revival Programme.
Hi
I have received an email from my son’s school regarding Dr Bike repair services. My son who is 6 year old has a new bike which he only rode 3 times but finds it difficult to pedal as I think it will be the chain which is probably too tight not sure. Is this something you would look into?
Hi- It’s the kind of thing we would do at one of our Dr Bike sessions. We run these during various community events. I think our next one is at Lister Park on 13th of August.
Shipley Active Travel Hub also run Bike Kitchens every Monday (This session is open to all; a community bike fix DIY drop-in session where you can come along and use their workshop to repair your own bike. You’ll have access to tools, stock of new & used bike parts and there’s experienced mechanics on hand to help and advise you should you need it.) Their Bike Kitchen is currently running every Monday evening from 5pm-8pm.
